Abstract

Objective: to improve tissue regeneration in the socket of a extracted tooth in patients with diabetes mellitus using autofibrin clot and using ozone therapy.
Materials and methods. The study of the level of lipid peroxidation processes was evaluated by the content ofmalondialdehyde. The state of the antioxidant defense system was investigated by the content of ceruloplasmin. For the study, 3 groups of patients were selected: a comparison group (50 patients) – patients who do not suffer from diabetes; the main group 1 (50 patients) – patients with diabetes who underwent tooth extraction without additional local treatment; the main group 2 (50 patients) – patients with diabetes mellitus who underwent tooth extraction, applied ozone therapy and the introduction of a extracted PRF tooth into the well.
Results. In the observation group (relatively healthy patients without diabetes), no significant changes were detected. In the main group 1, on the first day, the level of malondialdehyde (MDA) in the blood serum was 6.53±0.51 μmol/L, which exceeds normal values. As of the seventh and fourteenth day, the level of malondialdehyde (MDA) increased even more and amounted to 7.02±0.53 μmol/L and 7.03±0.44 μmol/L, respectively. In the main group 2, on the seventh day, the level of malondialdehyde (MDA) in the blood serum began to decrease and amounted to 5.98±0.11 μmol/L. This level is also high. After conducting studies on the 14th day, we obtained a level of malondialdehyde (MDA) in the blood serum of 3.99±0.20 μmol/L. This result is within the normal range for this study.
Conclusions. Using PRF technology and local ozone therapy has a positive effect not only on local wound healing, but also improves the level of lipid peroxidation in the body. The use of PRF technology and local ozone therapy positively improves the antioxidant defense system in the body as a whole.
