Abstract

Purpose: to establish the magnitude of bone potentiometric indicators in the dynamics of the treatment, which occur in patients with uncomplicated and complicated forms of mandibular fractures using various tooth metal tires from reposition of jaws fragments.
Methods. 59 patients with uncomplicated and complicated mandibular fractures in age from 17 to 62 years, for which using various tooth metal tires from reposition of jaws fragments.
Results. The analysis of potentiometric indicators received between metallic inclusions (tooth tires or ligature) and bone in patients with uncomplicated mandibular fractures in the dynamics of the treatment. Found that identified potentiometric unreliable indicators differed from normal (healthy). Was analysis of potentiometric parameters inpatients with complicated mandibular fractures. Revealed potentiometric indicators did not differ from the control group (healthy people) in the early period of the survey (5–7 days). Potentiometric indicators significantly increased to 15–20 day survey and further increased by 27–30 days of treatment as the appearance of inflammatory in the fracture gap. In 33.3 % of cases revealed the typical form galvanosis, 66.7 % – the atypical form. The presence of high potentiometric indicators of bone always correlated with the severity of clinical symptoms of inflammatory complications was observed in the affected mandibular bone. Normalization of bone potentiometric indicators observed after 2–3 months after surgery and replacement of dentures.
Conclusions. Set increase of bone potentiometric parameters in patients with complicated fractures of the mandible. Inflammatory complications were more frequent in patients who applied for the treatment of aluminum tires with aluminum-bronze ligature in the simultaneous presence in these patients of fixed metal dentures made of non-precious metal alloys with the presence of defects in their structures.
Key words: mandibular fractures, metal dentures, potential difference, amperage, electrical conductivity of the oral fluid, posttraumatic osteomyelitis.
